Octo Octa and Eris Drew, creative and life partners who have never released a full album together, are preparing to change that. The duo will release a self-titled LP as Alchemical Sisters on October 18 via Interdimensional Transmissions.
The pair recorded the album by converting the bedroom of their New Hampshire cabin into a home studio. In press materials, they describe the project as "psychedelic chaos, acid rollers, and big beat, channeled through hardware instruments and animated by love, touch, rhythm, and spiritual fire."
Alchemical Sisters runs eight tracks, opening with "This Is How It Should Be Done" and closing with "Why Not Dream," and includes "Song for New Hampshire," a nod to the cabin where the record came together.
The album arrives during an active year for both artists individually. Octo Octa, the recording name of Maya Bouldry-Morrison, released her own album, Sigils for Survival, earlier this year, and the pair recently played one of their well-regarded back-to-back DJ sets at Amsterdam's Dekmantel festival. They're set to play Making Time in Philadelphia next month.
Alchemical Sisters is now part of the wave of new electronic releases tracked on the release calendar ahead of its October release.
