Oh He Dead set a September release for the album Vertigo

Oh He Dead have announced their new studio album, Vertigo, due September 25 via Wally Baba Records, The Line of Best Fit reported August 17. The Washington, D.C. group shared the album's first single, "The Weight," alongside the announcement, ahead of a US tour opening October 9 in Pennsylvania.

Vertigo follows the band's 2024 album Ugly and was recorded with Nashville-based producer Jimmy Mansfield, whose past credits include Medium Build, Eric Church and Orville Peck. The band wrote on the road after Ugly, sifted through more than 100 songs and voted on the final selection, landing on a sound the outlet described as drawing on R&B, indie rock, psych and disco, with the album's title pointing to a period of near-constant touring and writing. An animated music video accompanies "The Weight."

Oh He Dead first broke out in 2018 with "Lonely Sometimes," after their video for NPR's Tiny Desk Contest went viral. They have since released a self-titled album, Pretty in 2023 and Ugly in 2024, and have been filming a documentary about life as an independent band.

Ahead of the tour, the band previewed Vertigo at a show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on August 15.

The full US run begins October 9 at The Lititz Shirt Factory in Pennsylvania; no UK dates have been announced. The album joins the release calendar and the tour is tracked on the tour guide, adding to a busy year in R&B and soul and indie releases.
