Olof Dreijer of The Knife reveals his first-ever solo tour

Olof Dreijer, one half of the Swedish electronic duo The Knife, announced dates for his first-ever tour as a solo artist. The run supports his debut solo album, Loud Bloom, released earlier this year, and will take him across North America and Europe with stops in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Washington DC and Montreal before a European leg through Malmo, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Oslo, Stockholm, Berlin, London and Bristol.

The North American leg opens September 25 at Philadelphia's Ruba Club, then moves to New York's Knockdown Center, Chicago's Sleeping Village, Washington DC's Transmission and Montreal's Making Time before the European dates begin in late October, including two shows in Dreijer's home country of Sweden, at Malmo's Moriska Paviljongen and Stockholm's Slaktkyrkan.

Dreijer described the live show as still coming together around the new album alongside older material and remixes. "I've done my best to make a dancey set for us to have fun together," he told Pitchfork, adding that he is also working with a lighting design team on what he called a "very beautiful light show."

The tour marks a return to solo performing after Dreijer released his first solo work, the EP Rosa Rugosa, in 2023, following years away from music outside The Knife, the project he shares with his sibling Karin Dreijer.

The dates close with a stop at Bristol's Simple Things Festival on November 7, giving Dreijer a festival stage to close out the run alongside his own headline shows. Fans can track the full itinerary, along with the rest of the fall's electronic touring schedule, on the tour guide.

Dreijer's solo turn follows The Knife's long run as one of electronic music's more elusive acts, known for rarely touring behind their own albums. A solo tour built around dance music and older favorites gives him a different kind of stage than the sibling duo ever kept, and the new dates suggest he intends to use it.
