Producer Jay Versace hospitalized following three seizures

Jay Versace was hospitalized after suffering three seizures, AllHipHop reported August 5, citing multiple reports from people close to the producer. Few details about the cause have been made public. The outlet said Versace was recovering and remained in good spirits, even continuing to handle some business from his hospital room.

Versace built his early following as an internet comedian before walking away from that career to focus on music production. He has since become one of the more respected producers in underground hip-hop, earning credits with Westside Gunn, Boldy James, Tyler, The Creator and Mach-Hommy, and AllHipHop describes him as a Grammy-winning producer.

In a follow-up post the same day, Versace confirmed the seizures himself. "I almost went on to glory lol had 3 seizures. Lost my memory for a few hours," he wrote. He said the experience changed his outlook, adding, "What I learned is that I need to just be off my phone and live life selfishly."

No official cause for the seizures has been given, and AllHipHop's coverage does not speculate on one. He said he has deleted his social media accounts and asked anyone with business inquiries to reach him by email instead.
