Rachel Chinouriri announces sophomore album I Think I Spoke Too Soon

London singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri has announced her sophomore album, I Think I Spoke Too Soon, due October 16 via Parlophone/Atlas Artists, DIY reports. It was written and recorded across London, Hereford and Los Angeles with a mix of new and returning collaborators, including Mary Weitz, Glen Roberts, Daniel Hylton-Nuamah and Lucy Dacus.

The announcement comes with a first preview, the single "One Song Away From Crying." Chinouriri describes the track as being about the precipice of a night out, the moment you know you need to leave. "It's a deeper decision because it's less about the night itself but more about a reflection of a deeper internal conflict," she said of the song, which arrives with a video directed by Dora Paphides.

The album follows Chinouriri's 2024 debut, What a Devastating Turn of Events, which DIY has credited with pushing her into indie-pop's "big leagues" through both radio-ready singles and subject matter other artists in her lane rarely explore.

Alongside the record, Chinouriri confirmed a run of worldwide headline shows, including stops in London, Los Angeles, New York and Sydney. Fan presale opens August 4, with general onsale following August 7. The schedule includes a slot at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival in August and arena dates opening for Gracie Abrams in December.

I Think I Spoke Too Soon arrives as part of a busy year for the indie and pop singer-songwriter, whose full live schedule can be tracked in the tour guide alongside the rest of the year's releases in the release calendar.
