Royal Blood have released 'Ten Over Ten,' the first single from a new studio album titled Dead Company, due November 13, Rolling Stone en Espanol reported on August 13. The song ends a two-year stretch without new music from the band.
Royal Blood are the English rock duo of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, known for pairing bass and drums into a sound that fills the space most bands need a guitarist for. Dead Company will be their fifth studio rock album.
Kerr told Kerrang! the band went into the studio without a backup plan: "If you're going to do something, do it really well without thinking about a plan B; give everything you have." He said the pair drew on the speed and intensity of Motorhead while making the record.
Thatcher described a return to basics: "We got together in a room to write music together and feel the sound waves. That's how you get excited again." According to a press release, the band worked without a deadline, avoiding distractions to produce a self-produced record they call "anti-produced," built on DIY energy.
The single arrives not long after Royal Blood confirmed a run of UK shows for 2026, and follows 2023's Back to the Water Below, a post-pandemic record built around reconnecting with other people through music. Dead Company is billed as a rawer, more direct successor, and it is now on the release calendar.
