Sauce Walka and Adrien Broner have released "Been Crashing," which came out on September 1 and pairs a rapper with a former boxer.
The collaboration came out of streaming rather than out of a studio relationship. Both men have spent recent months on Kick, where they have built an audience together.
Broner takes the hook. HotNewHipHop's Alexander Cole wrote that the former boxer sounds confident there and that his raspy voice suits the kind of track this is, which is not the usual verdict on an athlete's guest spot.
Sauce Walka works in his usual register on the verses, with the flow and delivery his listeners already know. Cole called the pairing surprising without calling it bad.
The streaming that produced the song has also produced trouble. Sauce Walka has been in a one-sided feud with Drake, and Broner has been accused of sexual misconduct, both of which have played out on the same platform the collaboration came from.
"Been Crashing" arrives without an album attached to it, and sits among the hip-hop singles logged on the release calendar.
