Shabazz Palaces announce new album "It's a Style Sport"

Ishmael Butler returns October 23 on Sub Pop with the song "Ahh World (I Won the Alpha Bet)."

Shabazz Palaces will return October 23 with a new album, It's a Style Sport, via Sub Pop, the follow-up to Ishmael Butler's consecutive mini-albums Exotic Birds of Prey and Robed in Rareness.

Butler produced the record with longtime collaborator Erik Blood, with additional contributions from Marquette Miller, Thaddillac, Evan Flory-Barnes, Gerald "Tugboat" Turner, Kassa Overall and Carlos Overall.

New song "Ahh World (I Won the Alpha Bet)" leads the album and introduces its 10-track lineup.

The rest of the tracklist runs "Field Notes," "Show Me Missouri in Mink," "Jheri Curl Jump," "Deadstock Dude," "Tongue in Chic," "Heliocentric Immortality Manifesto H.I.M.," "Olivia According to Touch," "Money Can't Save Your Mind" and closer "From One Future to Another."

It's a Style Sport joins the fall's new hip-hop releases on the release calendar.
