Sheryl Crow has announced a new album, Pick You Up, due out October 9. The seven-song record, out via Old Green Barn Records, is Crow's first full-length since 2024's Evolution, the same year she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The album's closing track and lead single, "Freedom Bus," is a duet with Arkansas singer-songwriter Jesse Welles. Crow co-wrote all seven songs with longtime collaborator Jeff Trott. Of the single, Crow said: "I do not take freedom lightly because our freedom has been paid for in the lives of others throughout history." The tracklist runs "Freight Train," "Perfect," "Pick You Up," "Flat Earth," "I've Got Your Number," "Heaven Help Us" and "Freedom Bus."

Since Evolution, Crow has released the protest song "The New Normal," co-produced Stevie Nicks's comeback single "The Lighthouse," and taken part in a run of benefit shows and all-star covers. She described the new album as "a commentary on being human and wanting connection," adding that she hopes the songs feel "like a soothing moisturizer on our chapped hearts."

The album's artwork features "The Elephant Who Forgot The Ocean" by artist Tyson Grumm, whose work Crow has collected for nearly 20 years. She reached out to Grumm after seeing the painting at an auction, and he agreed to let her use it for the cover; she went on to buy the original, which now hangs in her home. Crow will perform on Good Morning America on August 28 to mark the announcement.

Pick You Up is due October 9. Crow also recently joined the lineup for ACM Honors, adding to a busy year that adds to this week's new rock announcements, tracked on the release calendar.
