Johnny Flynn and Lillie Flynn detail collaborative album "Beam Cottage"

Siblings Johnny Flynn and Lillie Flynn announced a collaborative album, Beam Cottage, due November 6 via Transgressive Records and produced by Charlie Andrew, known for his work with Alt-J, Marika Hackman and London Grammar. The 14-track record is named for the rented cottage in the south of England where the two grew up. "We rented the cottage; our parents weren't wealthy, and they never owned a house together," the siblings said.

The album mixes new songs with covers from the siblings' childhood and reworkings of Johnny's back catalogue, performed with their River Band. It also features South African vocal group The Joy, a connection to the siblings' mother, who was born in South Africa. They said the voices "singing in Zulu and weaving with ours felt like a conversation with a culture we knew and loved from childhood."

Ahead of the album, the pair shared a new version of the 2008 Johnny Flynn song "The Ghost of O'Donahue," featuring The Joy. Johnny said he originally wrote it "in the back of the van looking out over the lush greenness of Ireland," thinking about his family's own history of leaving the country.

Beam Cottage's tracklist also folds in covers of Johnny Mercer, Hank Williams, Billy Bragg and Paul Simon songs alongside the new material. The siblings will play London's Royal Festival Hall on November 21; pre-ordering the album unlocks an early ticket presale on August 19, ahead of general sale on August 21.

Beam Cottage is due November 6, and will join the rest of the indie and country releases tracked on the release calendar that week.
