The group, Yorkshire natives now embedded in Manchester's music scene, describe their sound as a Northern, unruly Gen Z take on the political urgency of Public Enemy, aiming to spark connection rather than division. "We don't want to be labelled as a protest band," the group said, framing FREE LIONS instead as music meant to sum up the times and raise awareness around the injustices they see.
Self-described as capturing "the chat at after parties," Silver Tongued Rascals lean into music that supports causes and champions equality without resorting to empty gestures, aiming the mixtape's three songs squarely at the issues shaping their generation.
