SiriusXM turned a channel over to Dolly Parton after her death, filling 105 with her catalogue and calling it the Dolly Parton Tribute Channel. It went live in cars and on the SiriusXM app, and MusicRow reported it on 26 August 2026, the day after she died at 80.
The playlist is the obvious one, which is the point of a memorial channel. Jolene, 9 to 5 and I Will Always Love You anchor it, and around them sit records by the friends and collaborators she worked with over six decades, along with memories drawn from her career. Nothing about it is a deep cut exercise. It is the songs a listener already knows, running without interruption.
The channel was not the whole of the response. SiriusXM scheduled separate tribute programming across its country channels over the days that followed, on The Highway, Y2Kountry, Willie's Roadhouse, Outlaw Country and Bluegrass Junction. Five formats, from current radio country through to bluegrass, which is roughly the spread her own recording career covered.
The broadcaster has been close to this story already. John Mayer played a solo Dolly Parton tribute set at a SiriusXM concert in the Hamptons, one of a run of live tributes that started the moment the news broke and has not stopped since.
Radio was one strand of something much wider. Nashville dedicated a historic bench to her in Centennial Park, and the National R&B Hall of Fame said it would induct her in its 2027 class. A channel number is the fastest tribute a broadcaster can build, and 105 was on air inside a day.
