Sleep Token have partnered with guitar makers Jackson and Charvel to build the first signature instruments for masked members IV and III, the band's guitarist and bassist.
The Jackson Pro Plus Series Signature Sleep Token IV Monarkh SC retails for $2,199.99. It features a 30-inch scale length, a pale moon ebony fingerboard, an EverTune bridge and Fishman Fluence pickups. The Charvel Sleep Token III Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas Bass V, priced at $1,599.99, carries a 34.4 to 35.5-inch multi-scale neck made of caramelized maple, along with custom Fishman Fluence bass pickups and a 2-band EQ.
Fender's Justin Norvell said the instruments were built around the band's sound. "The Jackson features a whole-octave-down tuning paired with an EverTune 6 bridge for rock-solid stability in that low register," he said, describing the Charvel as a five-string bass built for added clarity and punch in the mix.
The metal band's members perform anonymously, in masks, under the names IV and III rather than their real identities, a signature part of Sleep Token's visual identity that Norvell pointed to when explaining why Fender wanted the partnership. Both instruments are now available through Reverb.
The launch follows an instrumental performance of the band's song "Vore" by IV and III using the new instruments, filmed to promote the release.
