Sonido Konex festival sets its rock and alternative lineup for August

Sonido Konex, the recurring showcase built around Buenos Aires's emerging music scene, announced the lineup for its August festival edition, Indie Hoy reported. The event runs Thursday, Aug. 20, at 8 p.m., with tickets available through Konex's official box office and a 20% discount for Indie Hoy Community members.

True to its usual curation, this edition again positions Sonido Konex as a window into what's happening in the emerging rock and alternative scene, with three acts selected: Homogenica, Electrochongo and Jero Jones.

Homogenica is an alternative pop band formed in Buenos Aires in late 2022, made up of Lola on vocals, Santi on bass, Facu on drums, Rodri on guitar and keyboards, and Juan on guitar. Known for the slogan "Música para chicas lindas" (music for pretty girls), the band combines catchy melodies with distorted guitars, dramatic lyrics and a kitsch aesthetic; they released their album "Post Pop" in 2025.

Electrochongo is the solo alias of Juampi Malvasio, who works across genres including Italo disco, electropop and house. Malvasio composes and produces all of his own material and plays most of the instruments, keyboards, synthesizers and drum machines himself.

Jero Jones fuses rock's core with electronic freshness, aiming for a sound that revives new wave and indie sleaze. The project's music leans on punchy rhythms, satirical and emotional lyrics, and frenetic synthesizers for what Indie Hoy described as a vibrant, contemporary result.
