Mitchell Douglas and Hagan Edge ink publishing deal with Universal Music Nashville

Mitchell Douglas and Hagan Edge, two members of the band Sons of Habit, have signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Nashville, MusicRow reported. Sons of Habit, originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, is rounded out by Dalton Daniels, Jeffrey Parish and Noah Patrick, and has amassed millions of streams while touring alongside Dylan Gossett, 49 Winchester, Ole 60 and Shane Smith & The Saints.

"They are both incredibly talented songwriters and exceptional musicians who bring a distinct perspective to everything they create," said Sam Nasr, UMPG Nashville's manager of A&R, of the new signees. Nasr added that he expects their music to resonate with audiences well beyond the band's existing fan base.

Douglas described the moment he first walked into UMPG's Nashville offices two years ago as immediately familiar. "When I first walked into the UMPG office two years ago, I immediately felt a sense of family," he said, recalling a longstanding tradition of songwriting he had never forgotten and adding that he never imagined he would end up joining the team.

Edge echoed the sentiment. "From the day we met Sam and the team, I knew they believed in the music as much as we do," he said. "We've landed in a place that will truly support us on this journey."

The deal covers both members of Sons of Habit individually as songwriters, rather than the band as a whole, and comes as the group continues to build a touring history alongside a roster of rising country and Americana acts.
