Stef Chura has shared two new songs, "Lovesick" and "Thunder And Lightning," ahead of her new album Dancing Alone On The Concrete, arriving this fall. Stereogum posted the tracks on August 18, 2026, framing the release as a comeback after a seven-year absence.
The album marks Chura's first full-length in seven years and was recorded in Athens, Georgia with producer Robert Schneider and members of his Elephant 6 collective. Half of R.E.M. played on the record's twangy lead single, "Danny," though Stereogum notes the two newest tracks lean in a different direction from that jangly opener.
Chura built her reputation in Detroit's indie rock scene with a raw, unpolished guitar sound, and the seven-year gap since her last album makes Dancing Alone On The Concrete one of the more anticipated returns of the year among indie fans.
