Sturgill Simpson, performing under his Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds persona, has announced the Mutiny For The Masses Tour, kicking off September 4 at Moody Center in Austin. Tickets for the 29-date North American run are on sale now.
The tour uses Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange and AXS Resale, which let fans resell tickets to other fans at the price they originally paid rather than a marked-up price.
Stops on the run include the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Ball Arena in Denver, United Center in Chicago, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TD Garden in Boston, Barclays Center in Brooklyn and State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The run wraps October 30 with a homecoming show at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, Simpson's home state.
The tour supports Mutiny After Midnight, which Simpson recorded and produced at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville with the Dark Clouds: drummer and vocalist Miles Miller, guitarist Laur Joamets, bassist Kevin Black and keyboardist and saxophonist Robbie Crowell. The last time the band toured, GQ described the show as an "intensely physical marathon performance that created a can't-miss musical happening."
Simpson introduced the Johnny Blue Skies persona in 2024 with the album Passage Du Desir, touring extensively behind it with continuous three-hour sets across North America and Europe. This run continues that format, with longer sets and no opening acts.
