Sublime trade their tour buses for a Bahamas cruise called Reef Madness

Sublime will swap their tour buses for the high seas this November, SPIN reported. The band's Reef Madness Cruise sails from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, November 15-19 aboard the Norwegian Jewel, a four-night voyage the outlet describes as part music festival, part tropical vacation and part fan convention.

Sublime is fronted by Jakob Nowell, who stepped into the role once held by his late father, Bradley Nowell, and rounded out by founding members Eric Wilson on bass and Bud Gaugh on drums. Two planned poolside sets will mark different sides of the band's history: one commemorating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 self-titled album, which was certified Diamond for 10 million copies sold, and a separate greatest-hits set built around songs like "Santeria," "What I Got" and "Wrong Way."

The cruise caps an active 2026 for the band, who released Until the Sun Explodes on June 12, their first studio rock album in 30 years. Its title track and lead single "Ensenada" both topped the US Alternative chart, and "Ensenada" won Alternative Song of the Year at this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards.

"I couldn't think of a better way to end the year and kick start the new year!" Gaugh said. The cruise lineup spans reggae, alternative, hip-hop, Americana and Southern rock, with SOJA, Yelawolf, Common Kings, G. Love, Long Beach Dub Allstars and DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill among the acts booked, alongside dozens of additional artists, DJs and tattoo artists.

The cruise-as-festival format has become increasingly common in rock and reggae circles in recent years, giving bands a captive, multi-day audience in a way a single headline set cannot. For Sublime, it's a chance to run both eras of the band, the Bradley Nowell years and the Jakob Nowell-fronted present, in front of the same audience over one long weekend at sea.
