Rapper Tee Grizzley says his felony convictions have been expunged

Tee Grizzley announced on social media that every felony conviction on his record has been expunged, calling it a life-changing legal victory. "Every felony GONE!!!! Thank you God," he wrote, adding, "If you're reading this and you've made mistakes, don't let them convince you your life is over."

The Detroit rapper shared the news on Instagram in a post that doubled as a reflection on how far he has come since his early legal troubles, writing in full: "One decision doesn't have to define your entire story. Now stay outta the BS and go get the money!!" AllHipHop framed the announcement as closing a chapter that has followed him through his entire career.

The Detroit rapper's rise began in 2017 with the single "First Day Out," a personal record documenting his release from prison after a robbery-related conviction, a song that made him one of the city's most recognizable artists almost overnight.

That felony history had complicated international touring, limited business opportunities and made routine matters such as insurance and banking more difficult even as his music career grew. He has since expanded into gaming and entrepreneurship, and AllHipHop said those ventures could become more accessible now that he isn't a felon.

He used the moment to encourage others carrying similar records: "Keep working. Keep praying. Keep growing. Your comeback can be greater than your setback."
