Fresh Start and Teletech are opening 2027 with a single night spread across three San Francisco venues. Pier 80 Warehouse, The Midway and 888 Garage all run at the same time on Saturday 2 January, turning the waterfront and the blocks around it into one connected night of hard dance and techno.
The three-venue format is the point rather than a logistical accident. Each room takes a different corner of the harder end of electronic music, with Pier 80 Warehouse supplying the industrial setting and The Midway and 888 Garage pulling the night deeper into the city's regular club circuit. A ticket buys the choice of which one to be in.
For Fresh Start, the annual New Year's dance festival run by The Midway and NPU Live, the partnership is a move into heavier material than it usually books. Teletech came out of Manchester and has grown into one of the better-established promoters and record labels in global techno, which is the half of the billing that sets the musical brief.
The lineup announced so far runs I Hate Models, Eli Brown, Nico Moreno, Novah and KLOUD, with more names attached and one artist deliberately held back. Keeping a slot blank on a three-venue bill is a reasonable way to give people a reason to check back before January.
Tickets moved quickly after the announcement. Presale registration opened first, with the presale itself starting on Friday 18 September at 10 a.m. Pacific and general sale following two hours later.
The date and the venues are logged on the festival tracker, alongside the rest of the new year's dance calendar. Nothing has been said about whether either promoter intends to repeat the format.
