The Musalini and 9th Wonder's joint album The Don & Eye 3 landed on streaming services Friday, August 14, after arriving first as a vinyl-exclusive release a few weeks earlier, HotNewHipHop reported. The 19-track record closes a trilogy in hip-hop that the two began together in 2022, pairing Musalini's rapping with 9th Wonder's production across the whole project.
The guest list runs deeper than a couple of names. Le$ turns up on "Lay Low," Smoke DZA and Really Jaewon share "Premium Plush," Silent Snipers appear twice, and the tracklist also brings in Swank and SWEATA on "Can You Stand The Rain," Heather Victoria on "Memories" and Eli Tha Don on "Capital Grille."
The tracklist itself has some character to it, running from opener "Musalini's Stroll" through songs called "Shrimp Lo Mein," "Game Cold" and "Live From Tokyo" before closing on "Time Travels." HotNewHipHop called the pairing "a perfect merging of styles," the kind of chemistry that comes from three straight projects built together rather than a one-off session.
9th Wonder's production has stayed busy elsewhere this year, too: he's also credited on Dinner Party's return with another short set of songs, the ongoing side project he shares with Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington and Terrace Martin.
With The Don & Eye 3, Musalini and 9th Wonder close out the trilogy they opened in 2022, and the album now joins the rest of this week's arrivals on the release calendar.
