To The Grave share the single "LIFE AMONG THE SEPTICS" before an October album

To The Grave have released "LIFE AMONG THE SEPTICS", a new single from LIBERATION FRONT, the album the Australian deathcore band put out on 2 October through BLKIIBLK. The song pairs guttural growls with a breakdown built to flatten a room, and the lyrics take an equally bleak view, setting heaven as a place in the mind against hell as the thing outside it.

Bassist Matt Clarke said the track sees the band leaning hard back into the same influences as their Director's Cuts album, describing it as full of bouncy riffs, fast passages and a lot of dynamic swings. It is a deliberate return to a mode rather than a departure from one.

The video took a different tack from the band's usual performance clips. Clarke said they got a group of friends down to hang out with them and made something that sits somewhere between serious and fun, which is not the register deathcore videos normally operate in.

Vocalist Dane Evans has described the album as a concept that started on tour in Australia last year, when the band decided they wanted to make a sequel to Director's Cuts. What emerged, he said, sits between that record and a more furious relative of Everyone's A Murderer, with a bleak kind of aggression running through all of it.

The band launch their Sawed Off Suffering tour in two weeks as co-headliners with Crown Magnetar, with Face Yourself supporting throughout and further acts on selected dates, including Ameonna, I Declare War, Backbiter, Tracheotomy and Squelching. Clarke called them the heaviest lineups the band have assembled.

"LIFE AMONG THE SEPTICS" follows "Torture P*rn", the earlier cut from the same album. It is one of the more punishing metal releases of the autumn, and the album date is on the release calendar.
