Tomorrowland is adding a second day to its Shanghai festival this October

Tomorrowland's Shanghai festival, The Magic of Tomorrowland, is expanding to two nights this October after selling out its 2025 debut. The event runs October 17-18 at Hero Dome in Shanghai's Huangpu District, under a deep-sea theme called Planaxis.

Saturday's bill is headlined by Swedish House Mafia member Axwell, joined by MORTEN, Lost Frequencies and a back-to-back set from Cassian and Kevin de Vries. Sunday hands the night to Tiesto, alongside Alison Wonderland, Miss Monique, Joel Corry and others. Hero Dome has undergone what organizers called "a major refresh" for the event, adding a curved LED screen stretching nearly 100 meters and roughly 80 additional overhead screens meant to submerge attendees in an underwater visual world.

"We are thinking long term and look forward to continuing our journey in Shanghai," said Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen, noting that several production elements built for the Shanghai shows will not travel to any other Tomorrowland event. Hero co-founder and CEO Danny Tang echoed the commitment, saying the venue upgrade reflects a long-term plan rather than a one-off event.

Budweiser, a decade-long Tomorrowland sponsor, is marking the expansion with a limited-edition bottle from its Magnum line tied to the underwater theme. Single-day general admission tickets run 788 yuan, with two-day passes at 1,488 yuan and a new GA Plus tier offering express entry and access to a debuting lounge space, Harbour Villa.

The expansion marks Tomorrowland's clearest bet yet on China's appetite for large-scale electronic music events, and adds a second night to the festival tracker for one of the format's fastest-growing markets.
