Toner announce the album Dynasty House, their first in five years

Toner have announced Dynasty House, the fourth album under the name and the first in five years, and put out a song from it called "Cleo."

Toner is the project of Samuelito Cruz, who has been making lo-fi guitar-pop in Oakland under the name for more than a decade. The output has come intermittently rather than on a schedule, which is part of why a five-year gap between full-lengths reads as normal here rather than as a comeback.

The record arrives through Smoking Room, the label Cruz has been working with lately, and one with a following among listeners who track small American guitar labels rather than release lists.

Dynasty House follows God's Hammer, the EP Toner released in 2023. That EP was the last new music under the name before this announcement, so "Cleo" is the first sound of what the project has become since.

There is no album art and no preorder link yet, and no release date has been attached to the title. That leaves "Cleo" doing the whole job of introducing the record, which is a fair amount of weight for a single indie guitar song to carry.

The album will show up on the release calendar once a date lands, alongside the rest of the rock records due over the coming months.
