UK garage artist Sammy Virji returns to New York for two Brooklyn waterfront shows

Sammy Virji, one of the artists most responsible for putting UK garage in front of American audiences, is bringing two open-air shows to Pier 4 at the Brooklyn Army Terminal on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, the first U.S. dates of his North America Tour 2026 Part 1. Few cities outside the UK have embraced UKG the way New York has, and Virji has been a steady presence in building that audience.

The shows arrive off the strongest run of his career. Virji won Best Producer at DJ Mag's Best of British Awards last year, his first career award win, then sold out two straight nights at London's 10,000-capacity Alexandra Palace this April, the largest headline shows he has played. He also pulled one of the biggest crowds of the weekend at Coachella, picked up a BBC Radio 1 residency, watched his song "If U Need It" go Gold, and landed in the UK top 10 with "Cops & Robbers" alongside Skepta.

Friday's support comes from X CLUB. and 33 Below. X CLUB., the duo of Ben Clarke and Jesse Morath, came out of Brisbane before relocating to London and built their name on fast, hard sets pulling from early '90s techno through drum and bass; their records have landed on Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs and Lobster Theremin, and they run their own label, Hide The Junk.

33 Below plays both nights. Born in New Zealand and now based in London, Jack Laven has spent recent years moving between UKG, drum and bass and grime, and has already worked with Virji directly and supported Fred again.. on the road. Saturday adds Scottish producer Sam Gellaitry, who built a cult SoundCloud following out of Stirling before signing to XL at 18; his 2021 single "Assumptions" resurfaced in 2025 to hit No. 5 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, the same year as his debut album, Anywhere Here Is Perfect.

The Brooklyn Army Terminal has stood on the Sunset Park shoreline since World War I, and its Pier 4 setting puts the show right on the water with lower Manhattan visible across the harbor. Doors open at 4pm both days for the 18-and-over run; Saturday sold out ahead of the weekend, while Friday tickets remain available.

Anyone who has caught Virji before knows what's coming: a set built on unreleased dubs and constant reloads that rarely sits still. The Brooklyn run adds to a growing list of electronic tour dates on the tour guide.
