UnitedMasters has appointed four executives across marketing, brand, commerce and operations, expanding the independent distribution platform and label's senior leadership team. The company named Todd L. Perry II as VP and head of artist and label marketing, Luca Zanello as head of brand and sync, Goldie Harris as head of commerce, and Jason Peerless as VP of artist and label operations.
Perry joins from Warner Records, where he led marketing campaigns for Veeze, Alex Isley, Syd, Rusowsky and LIHTZ; at UnitedMasters he will lead efforts to scale and modernize the marketing organization. "I'm thrilled to join the UnitedMasters team, for years I've admired the company and what they've meant to the landscape of modern music," Perry said. Zanello arrives with more than 20 years of experience across The Orchard, Roc Nation and MSM Group and will drive sync and brand collaborations across advertising, film, television and gaming. Peerless spent 12 years at Universal Music Group, including a decade in Def Jam Recordings' A&R operations, and will now lead operational strategy for UnitedMasters' artist and label services.
CEO Steve Stoute said the hires reflect continued investment in the infrastructure artists need to build sustainable independent careers, "especially this year as we are achieving milestones within the global music sector of the business."
The appointments land during a run of chart and certification wins for the roster: Brent Faiyaz's R&B album Icon debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart and No. 6 on the Billboard 200, the company's highest-charting album debut to date, opening with 58,000 equivalent album units. Its single "have to." reached No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Songs chart.
Hip-hop artist BigXthaPlug's I Hope You're Happy earned RIAA Gold certification, with "Hell at Night," featuring Ella Langley, going Platinum and "All the Way," featuring Bailey Zimmerman, certified 2x Platinum. FloyyMenor's "Gata Only" reached 4x Platinum, was TikTok's biggest global song in 2024, and became the fastest Latin song to pass two billion Spotify streams; UnitedMasters says the Chilean singer is the only artist from his country to earn Platinum or higher for a Latin title in the RIAA's Gold & Platinum Program.
"Witnessing our artists reach new levels of success, while having control of their masters, drives everything we do across the music division," said Jesse Morav, UnitedMasters' VP of A&R. The company also added La Reezy, Grace Carter, Kid Apollo and Elise Elvira to its roster this quarter.
