Vory released DONDADA on 28 August, a ten-track album and his most focused body of work in some time.
He arrived in front of millions through Kanye West's DONDA, where his voice carried more of the record than his billing suggested, and the title of this one makes the connection without apologising for it. What has kept him working since is the same thing that got him noticed: a tone that does not sound like anybody else on a hook.
That voice is what DONDADA is built around. The songs give it room rather than burying it in production, and the guest list is arranged to complement rather than compete.
The sequence runs HEAVEN OR HELL, COULD'VE JUST SAID THAT with Domani, RELAX with 2 Chainz, SIAMESE, RUBI ROSE with Fredo Bang, TALK TO YOU with Trae The Truth, SOBER, WAY TOO FINE, STRIP FOR ME and the closing YARELIS INTERLUDE with Dame Atlas. SOBER went out ahead of the album, and we covered that track when it landed.
HotNewHipHop readers rated the album 3.33 out of 5, and the site's read was that it should put him back on the radar of listeners who have not thought about him since 2021. It files under hip-hop and R&B and soul and is logged on the release calendar.
