Toronto promoter Wavelength is teaming with Sonic Boom to stage an all-ages concert inside the ruins of St. Anne's Church on August 27, held alongside the art exhibition "Where Walls Meet Sky." The bill brings together Toronto ambient drone-folk act Volur, Kitchener's A Horse Named Friday and Charles Spearin & the Local Singers with Fleshtone Aura, and the local DJ project +BODY////GRAVE.
St. Anne's Anglican Church, a longtime landmark in Toronto's Little Portugal neighbourhood, was destroyed by fire in June 2024. The event's listing called the building's loss devastating for the community it had served for generations, and framed the concert, billed as "A Concert in the Ruins of St. Anne's Church," as a one-night collaboration between Wavelength Music and the gallery Art Spin, staged amid the church's ongoing reconstruction.
