Wine Lips have released a new single called "If You Don't Know," taken from their forthcoming album TV Dinner, The Line of Best Fit reported on August 10. The Toronto garage-psych band's album is due August 28 via Stomp Records.
The new track pulls from the blown-out crunch of 90s alt rock while keeping the band's psychedelic instincts intact, and arrives with a campy, costumed music video. The Line of Best Fit described the song as summoning a late-summer feeling, a high-speed drive down the motorway at sunset with the windows down.
Lyrically, the track explores the odd grief of realizing time no longer stretches the way it did in childhood, with the band pulling from The Hives, Osees and Frankie and the Witch Fingers as touchstones.
Over the past decade, Wine Lips have amassed more than 50 million streams, earned a shout-out from Iggy Pop on his BBC Radio programme, and toured across North America, Europe, the UK and Asia, according to the site. It's the latest addition to the release calendar and our rock coverage.
TV Dinner's release will be followed by a fall North American tour supporting Death From Above 1979, with a European run also in the works, The Line of Best Fit reported.
