Wolf Alice have shared a cover of The Roches' "Hammond Song," the latest track lifted from their forthcoming B-sides 7-inch, DIY reports. The band recruited Julia Cumming of Sunflower Bean, who supported them on their UK arena tour last year, along with Bria Salmena, to help recreate the original's three-part vocal harmony.

Frontwoman Ellie Rowsell explained the choice: "We love this song by The Roches, the guitar work and the vocal treatment." She said the band had referenced it while making 2021's Blue Weekend, and it stuck around as an inspiration for their most recent album, The Clearing, too. Recording happened in Los Angeles, where both guest vocalists were living at the time.

The cover comes from a 7-inch package of B-sides recorded during sessions for The Clearing, the 2025 BRIT Award-winning album. Set for release August 21, exactly a year after The Clearing's original release, it also features the previously shared "Gospel Oak" and a yet-unheard track, "Hit the Sky."

The release lands during what DIY calls an epic festival run for the band, capped by a hometown headline show at Finsbury Park in North London, described as a full-circle victory lap for a group that has built one of their generation's great indie success stories while staying close to its roots.

Wolf Alice continue touring behind The Clearing, with dates including Custom House Square in Belfast on August 29, part of the schedule tracked in the tour guide. The new B-sides join the rest of the year's rock and indie releases in the release calendar.
