Zach Top released two new songs, "Good Girls & Cowgirls" and "Other Side of Hurtin'," on August 21, both co-written with Carson Chamberlain and Tim Nichols. Top had already debuted "Good Girls & Cowgirls" live at the Under the Big Sky Festival in Montana in July, where the crowd was singing along by the final chorus.
Top is one of the more prominent young artists in the traditionalist wing of country music, known for both his songwriting and his instrumental musicianship. His 2024 debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, produced the hit "I Never Lie" along with "Use Me," "Sounds Like the Radio" and "Bad Luck," each of which has topped 100 million streams on Spotify.
His 2025 follow-up, Ain't in It for My Health, has performed more modestly by comparison. Only its lead single, "South of Sanity," has crossed 30 million streams, and that song has recently shown signs of stalling on the charts. The two new songs mark Top's first new music since that album and give him fresh material to draw from as he looks to rebuild momentum. Both singles now sit on the release calendar alongside the rest of this week's new country output.
