The Cranberries are releasing a previously unheard concert from 1994, capturing the band at London's now-shuttered Astoria II venue. The recording, titled Live At The London Astoria II, 1994, gathers 15 stripped-back performances and arrives September 4 on 2xLP molten lava vinyl, standard black vinyl, CD and digital formats through Island/UMe.
The set leans heavily on No Need To Argue, the 1994 album that turned The Cranberries into one of the biggest rock exports of the decade and carried the hit "Zombie." Nine of the newly surfaced tracks come from that record, while the rest reach back to the band's 1993 debut, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?, including staples like "Linger," "Pretty" and "Dreams." Recorded during the same stretch the band was breaking in the United States, the Astoria show captures a lineup fresh off American success and playing to a home crowd that had watched them rise.

Drummer Fergal Lawler remembered the London date as a homecoming of sorts. "It was such a buzz playing in The Astoria. We had returned from the US and taken a bit of time off for Christmas," he said, recalling that the band felt proud their work had "finally come to fruition" in front of familiar faces at the front of the stage.
The reissue arrives as The Cranberries continue to manage a catalog shaped by Dolores O'Riordan's death in 2018, which was ruled accidental drowning brought on by alcohol intoxication. The band's older songs keep finding new listeners regardless: "Linger" recently scored a scene in Apple TV's remake of Cape Fear, starring Javier Bardem. Pre-orders for the live album are open now ahead of the September 4 release, one of several archival projects tracked on the release calendar this fall.
