beabadoobee shares new single 'Memories'

beabadoobee released "Memories," the latest single from her upcoming fourth album, Pylon, due September 18 via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records. The song sits in the tension between nostalgia and regret, built around the risk of romanticizing the past. "I'm clinging onto ideas that should make me happy but actually make me feel sad," she said of the track, explaining she wishes those moments could last forever instead.

beabadoobee, the stage name of Bea Kristi, broke out in the late 2010s with hushed bedroom-pop demos before releasing a run of albums that pushed her sound toward fuller, more polished indie pop songwriting, most recently 2024's This Is How Tomorrow Moves. Pylon continues that expansion, and she has described it as "one of the happiest songs on the album" despite its melancholy subject matter, a contrast she leaned into rather than smoothed over.

"Memories" follows two earlier singles from Pylon, "Sun Has Set" and "Switchblade," released in June and July. Much of the album was written alone in hotel rooms while she toured, a process she said returned her to the isolation of writing as a teenager, "sad as fuck" and working things out on her own. Pylon is set to arrive on the release calendar on September 18, and she has UK arena dates lined up this November, including stops in Cardiff and Manchester.
