Clinic announce their tenth album, Wild In The Streets

Clinic have announced their tenth studio album, Wild In The Streets. The Liverpool art punk band are introducing it with the lead single "You And I", a track Stereogum described as zany, which is roughly where the group have always operated.

The band that makes the record is smaller than the one most listeners will remember. Clinic is now just Ade Blackburn and Jonathan Hartley, a duo rather than the masked four-piece that came out of Liverpool at the end of the nineties and spent two decades building one of the strangest catalogues in British rock.

Wild In The Streets follows Fantasy Island, which the band released in 2021. A five-year gap is a long one by their standards, since Clinic spent the 2000s putting out albums at close to a two-year clip before slowing down.

Reaching a tenth album puts them in company few of their contemporaries from the same scene have kept. The band have never had a hit single and have never needed one, working instead through a run of records built on the same organ, the same reverb and the same voice pitched somewhere between a mutter and a threat.

No release date or tracklist has been announced beyond the album title and the first song. The record will be logged on the release calendar once the date lands.
