A year on from EURO-COUNTRY, CMAT has put out four live recordings taken from her Dublin headline show in May. The release, EURO-COUNTRY (Live at St Anne's), was recorded with The Very Sexy CMAT Band in front of a 20,000 capacity crowd at St Anne's Park.
It arrives on streaming and on vinyl, including a limited run of 500 green copies through her own store. The four tracks are a compressed version of a much longer night, and the full two hour concert was made available to watch on her YouTube channel from 28 to 31 August.
Her own framing of it was characteristically unbothered. She invited listeners to enjoy four recordings of herself and the band at full tilt with 20,000 people standing in a field in Dublin, and said the show confirmed her status as a national treasure in Ireland.
The album these recordings celebrate has had an unusually good year. EURO-COUNTRY was released in 2025, drew wide critical praise and won an Ivor Novello Award, which turned what had been a promising run into a genuine breakthrough for an Irish pop artist working with country instrumentation.
Live releases are a useful way of extending an album cycle without starting a new one, and a four track set from a career best show does that cheaply. It also gives an audience that could not fit into St Anne's Park something to buy.
She headlined End of the Road Festival on 6 September, keeping the same run going into the autumn. Ireland's other exports have been busy too, from Fontaines D.C. playing the BBC's last live session at Maida Vale to Gurriers sharing the single Nothing Happens Twice.
