Derez De'Shon released his new album, I'm Not Ok But..., on August 7, HotNewHipHop reported on August 9. The 14-track project continues what the Atlanta rapper calls "pain music," reflecting on hardship and determination, built largely on soft keys and what the outlet called ghostly chords.
The tracklist opens on the title cut and runs through Beefin With God, featuring Young Blifford, before closing on Hidden, featuring Luh Dj. In between, Morray and T-Rell trade verses on FrFr, Sy Ari Da Kid appears on Thoughts Of You, Raysean joins We Up Now, and BHM Pezzy features on Self Made.
HotNewHipHop staff writer Gabriel Bras Nevares wrote that the album "doesn't rewrite his formula," but called it "a very representative record for his artistry," pointing to how consistently De'Shon has mined the same struggle-and-perseverance ground since his breakout.
De'Shon first broke out in 2017 with the song Hardaway and has built his career since around those same themes of industry struggle. One of the album's guests, Morray, also turned up this month on TroyBoi's single La La Land, released ahead of an upcoming FT EP.
It's the latest addition to the release calendar and our hip-hop coverage. HotNewHipHop did not report any additional release plans or tour dates tied to I'm Not Ok But...
