Dolly Parton left a queue of records, shows and products for after her death

Dolly Parton was still working the week she died, and her office has now published the queue. Representatives sent an email on 26 August 2026, a day after her death, listing what she had finished and what was half-built: a Broadway musical, a hotel, a museum, a coffee brand, a doll line, a jewellery collection, dog treats, bedding, a digital avatar, a musical documentary, a biopic, a docuseries, a scripted series and an animated series about Billy the Kid.

The next few weeks were already booked. Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stops was tied to National Truck Driver Appreciation Week beginning 13 September 2026. The SongTeller Hotel takes stays from 14 September and holds its grand opening on 29 September, the same day the Life Of Many Colors Museum opens and Cup Of Ambition coffee goes on sale online. Dolly Dolls went up on 15 September. A Christmas project, Dolly On The Holly, was set for the 2026 holidays.

The largest item is DOLLY: A True Original Musical, which previews on Broadway from 7 December 2026 and opens on 19 January 2027. Tickets were already on sale through 21 November 2027, so the run had been sold ten months past its own opening night before she died. A Kendra Scott collection built around 9 to 5 follows in January 2027, dog treats in early 2027, and bedding and home decor in the third quarter of that year.

There is also a song nobody has heard. Parton locked a recording away at Dollywood until 2045, which puts a release date on the catalogue 19 years out. That is the shape of the whole plan: country and pop work with dates attached to it, rather than an estate improvising after the fact. Her manager Danny Nozell said the roadmap was built over several years with a team she chose herself.

Her estate has moved fast elsewhere too. It set DOLLYFEST for Nashville and London in 2027, and the festival has since been confirmed as a two-weekend event. Nashville's airport will be renamed for her. The next thing on her own list is a chain of truck stops, and it opens in September.
