Entheos share the single Undone ahead of the album Empty On The Inside

Chaney Crabb says the band finally chased the industrial sound they had wanted.

Entheos have released a single called Undone, the second track lifted from their album Empty On The Inside, which arrives on October 23 through Metal Blade Records.

It works differently from the record's first single. Where Golden Crown led with force, Undone is carried by vocalist Chaney Crabb's harmonies, and Metal Injection describes the progressive death metal band turning something bleak into something close to beautiful.

Crabb was direct about the subject. She called it a dark, visceral song about confronting the guilt of having become the person you always feared you would be, and the grief of knowing you cannot go back and undo what you destroyed.

The bigger change is the production. "We've wanted to experiment with more of an industrial sound for a long time," Crabb said, adding that writing the song came naturally and that it is one of the most true-to-themselves things the band has written, even if it surprises listeners.

That fits what the band say the album is about: losing yourself in darkness, confronting the hopelessness, and wondering whether there is a route back to the person you used to be. An industrial palette suits that better than straight technical playing.

Entheos recently wrapped a North American tour with Jinjer. Their next confirmed date is the album release show at Eastside Bowl in Nashville on October 23, the same night the record comes out, with Dissonation, Knoll and Vaelravyn also playing.

The single is logged on the release calendar ahead of the October album date. It arrives in a busy stretch for metal announcements, among them Deathchant's album Kova.
