Fine announces the album Jazz Dreams and shares "Everything in the Shade"

Fine has announced Jazz Dreams, her second album, and shared the single "Everything in the Shade". The record is out 23 October through Escho, and it follows Rocky Top Ballads, the debut she put out in 2024.

The Copenhagen musician, whose full name is Fine Glindvad Jensen, is conservatory-trained and used to lead the electro-pop group CHINAH. She has since made music with peers including Erika de Casier, Astrid Sonne and Elias Ronnenfelt of Iceage, and is reported, though not confirmed, to be part of the Crying Nudes project with Dean Blunt.

Under her own name the work has gone somewhere wider than any of those associations suggest. Jazz Dreams runs to thirteen songs, all of them written, recorded, produced and mixed by her, and it is arranged to play like a collage rather than a sequence, with separate perspectives and ideas set next to each other.

"It's cruel, but it's also freeing," she said of that method, describing record-making as something that does not move in a straight line and where a bizarre idea can simply be accepted on the dream's own terms.

The tracklist opens with "The thing" and closes on "Much to say", taking in "Goodbye Brain", "Million years", "Sometimes I rush" and the earlier singles "I Could", "Run", "Moment" and "Portal" along the way. "Everything in the Shade" is the piano-led one, and it is the closest the record comes to plain classic songwriting.

Her music sits between pop writing and electronic production, and the 23 October release is logged on the release calendar.
