Garth Brooks has put out a statement on the end of his three-year arrangement with TuneIn, the streaming radio service that has been carrying his free channels to listeners around the world. The Garth Channel and Tailgate Radio sign off on Tuesday 22 September, and The BIG 615 carries on through the end of 2026 on TuneIn but without any affiliation to Brooks or The Sevens Network.
The trigger appears to be corporate rather than creative. Stingray Group acquired TuneIn shortly before the arrangement wound down, and Brooks was careful to say the transition had been handled well by both sides, describing the Stingray family and TuneIn's people as fantastic through it. "We couldn't be happier with the three years we have spent with them," he said, wishing them well and hoping the paths cross again.
No reason for the split has been reported beyond that, and neither party has said whether the stations will find a new home. Brooks is expected to announce further broadcast and multimedia plans in the coming months, which suggests the programming rather than the partnership is what he intends to keep.
Free radio was an unusual thing for an artist of his size to spend three years on. The three channels covered his own catalogue, a tailgate-oriented format and a broader country station, and gave him a distribution route that did not depend on terrestrial radio programmers or on a streaming service's playlists.
Everything else in his year is pointing upward. The Blame It All On My Roots arena tour is still running with sold-out dates, a third Salt Lake City show was added at the Delta Center after the first two sold out and a third Orlando date at the Kia Center followed the same pattern, and he has reportedly sold more than 200,000 tickets this year; we reported in August that he filled seats while country ticket sales sagged elsewhere and this month that Orlando was added to the run. The dates are tracked on the tour guide.
Two further things are booked. He headlines Stagecoach in 2027 alongside Riley Green and Zach Top, with Florida Georgia Line reuniting for a late-night set at the same festival, and DOUBLE LIVE gets its first vinyl pressing on 6 November, sold as a limited collector's item through Walmart, Target and Amazon. For a country artist who has spent thirty years controlling his own distribution more tightly than almost anyone, losing a radio platform looks less like a setback than a contract expiring.
