Goldenvoice announced Ocean Way Festival on 16 July 2026, a new two-day event debuting on the Santa Monica beach on 26 and 27 September, with Olivia Dean and the Killers headlining.
The name comes from the street that gave Allen Sides' Ocean Way Recording its name, and the location is not incidental. Goldenvoice cut its teeth promoting shows at the nearby Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. "Santa Monica has an incredible music history, and Goldenvoice has been fortunate to be part of that story," said Nic Adler, the company's vice president of regional festivals, pointing at both the Civic and the studio a few steps from the beach.
The support bill is long and unusually wide: Khruangbin, Sublime, Jack White, Nala, Hiatus Kaiyote, Blond:Ish, 54 Ultra, Alvvays, Durand Jones & the Indications, Carlita, Good Neighbors, Vandelux, Coco & Breezy, DJ Harvey, Austin Millz, Heidi Lawden, Erez, and DJ sets from Poolside and Hot Chip.
The layout is built for a beach rather than a field. Areas are set aside for people to put blankets down away from the stages, so a full day of beach recreation runs alongside the music. The festival is a keystone event for Sandbox on the Beach, Santa Monica's civic plan for public events that also takes in Super Bowl LXI and the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics.
The catch, and Goldenvoice put it in the announcement rather than the small print, is that there is no parking on site. Like the new Long Beach amphitheatre, Ocean Way is designed to be transit-oriented: the grounds between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street sit steps from the E Line terminus, several bus routes and a bike valet.
Santa Monica residents got first crack at a presale on 22 July at 11am, with general tickets from $399 following on 23 July.
