Zac Brown Band played The Mann in Philadelphia and used the night to hand the stage to two guests, one of them on home ground. Grace Potter, who is opening the tour, and Amos Lee, a Philadelphia native, both came out during the show.
Potter went first, emerging to sing and play guitar on her own "The Lion The Beast The Beat", the title track of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' 2012 album. That is an unusual guest spot in that the visitor led the host band through her material rather than the reverse.
Lee arrived later, after the Love & Fear track "What You Gonna Do" launched a stripped-down segment, and performed his "Supply and Demand". The song is not new territory for the band: Zac Brown Band had played it 15 times between 2013 and 2020, several of those with Lee himself.
With Potter still onstage, the acoustic ensemble ran through "I Shall Be Released", the Bob Dylan song popularised by The Band, repeating a collaboration they had tried the previous night at Forest Hills Stadium. Lee stayed on for a cover of Paul Overstreet's "Forever and Ever, Amen", a song the band had previously played on June 9, 2011 with Randy Travis, who made it a hit.
Between the guests, the band again played "Butterfly", their collaboration with Dolly Parton from the 2025 album Love & Fear. Brown used it to honour her for the second time in three days, having given it its tour debut in New York two nights earlier, the band's first show after her death.
That repetition is worth noting. Most of the tributes across the past fortnight have been covers, chosen from a catalogue everybody knows. Brown is one of a small number of artists who can reach for something the two of them actually recorded together, and he has now put it into the set twice.
The Philadelphia show sits inside a busy stretch of guest spots for the band, and their remaining country and rock dates run on the tour guide. The wider tribute wave for Parton has now reached almost every touring act with a country audience, including Brandi Carlile in Nashville.
