Jackson Dean expands his album Magnolia Sage with an In Full Bloom edition

Jackson Dean will release the deluxe edition of his album Magnolia Sage on October 9 through Blue Highway Records. MusicRow reported the date, and the record, titled Magnolia Sage (In Full Bloom), is tracked on the release calendar.

Four tracks are added to the original. There is a more unplugged take on "Wildfire (Afterburn)", live versions of "Blacktop Blues" and "Hey Mississippi" recorded on the road, and a new original called "The Moon And The Wolf".

"Magnolia Sage goes places," Dean said of the expansion. "It's a journey." He said pulling in songs from the road and a stripped take on "Afterburn" was what made sense when the team went looking for ways to widen what was already there.

"The Moon And The Wolf" was written by Luke Dick, Jessie Jo Dillion and Chris Tompkins, and features Laci Kaye Booth. It arrived on September 2, the day after the announcement.

Dean described recording it with Dick as realising how far the song reached into a place most people go without knowing how deep the feeling runs, a space he called suspended and very much alive. Adding Booth, he said, took the mystery of that moment somewhere else again.

The original album's writing credits lean heavily on Dick, who appears on most tracks alongside Dean, with Tucker Beathard, Randy Montana, Jessie Jo Dillon, Laura Veltz and Natalie Hemby among the other names. Dean takes the Magnolia Sage Tour through St. Augustine, New York City and Los Angeles into December. Deluxe reissues have been a steady feature of the country calendar this year, including Lanie Gardner's Faded Polaroids deluxe and album cycles such as Carly Pearce opening up about her fifth record.
