KATSEYE's new EP WILD has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, moving roughly 170,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending August 20, according to Billboard and Luminate data.
Billboard called it the biggest chart debut for a girl group since 2008, when Danity Kane's Welcome to the Dollhouse sold 236,000 copies. WILD's numbers leaned heavily on physical sales, with 145,000 pure album sales driven by more than 30 CD and vinyl variants, including collectibles and bonus tracks. Streaming equivalent albums added another 24,500 units.
The strong debut arrives during an uncertain stretch for the group's lineup. Member Manon Bannerman has been on hiatus since February 2026, with little update on whether she will return, though she still appears throughout KATSEYE's recently released documentary, KATSEYE: Wild Hearts.
Fellow member Sophia Laforteza is also stepping back. The group announced via Weverse that she would be "taking dedicated time for extended rest and ongoing care to ensure a full recovery." Laforteza added her own statement, saying, "I'm realizing that if I don't take care of my mind and body now, I won't be able to keep doing what I love the most for so long."
Despite the lineup uncertainty, KATSEYE is proceeding with its already sold-out arena tour, which kicks off September 1.
