Marcus King, Slash and Marty Stuart headline a Sho-Bud Live show at the Ryman

Marcus King, Slash and Marty Stuart will headline a Sho-Bud Live show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on October 27, sponsored by Lightning 100, MusicRow reported. Also on the bill are Lloyd Green, Skunk Baxter, Dan Dugmore, Don Felder, Rocco DeLuca, Eddy Dunlap, Sarah Jory, Andrea Whitt and Hatfield Rain, with tickets already on sale.

The special evening will celebrate the legacy of Sho-Bud pedal steel guitars and the artists, songs and recordings that helped create the Nashville Sound, built around performances, storytelling, collaborations and all-star jams rather than a straightforward concert.

Sho-Bud built pedal steel guitars that helped define the sound of early country music, prized for a distinctive tone and pitch-changing mechanism. The same instrument found its way into rock, gospel, pop and jazz records by acts including the Beach Boys, Yes, Poco and the Eagles, carrying the company's heart, spade, diamond and club emblem across guitars, banjos, Dobros and amplifiers built for stars such as George Jones, Ernest Tubb and Roy Clark.

Money raised will be split among five causes: Project Harmony, the Peter Frampton Myositis Foundation, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network and Friends Life Community.

Marty Stuart has long championed the instrument's history, and pairing him with a rock guitarist like Slash and a rising country star like Marcus King reflects how far Sho-Bud's reach extended beyond Nashville.
