Miranda Lambert leans into country disco on new song Sunset Marquis

The Sunset Marquis hotel near L.A.'s old disco scene inspired the title track's name.

Miranda Lambert has released a new song called "Sunset Marquis," Taste of Country reported on August 7, and the outlet says it pushes further into the country-disco sound she has been teasing on her upcoming album, Crisco.

The song follows the Crisco title track and "Till the Going's Gone" as the third piece shared from the country album, which is due out October 2. Ashley Monroe co-wrote "Sunset Marquis" with Lambert.

The song takes its name from the Sunset Marquis, a West Hollywood hotel about a mile from the old Los Angeles disco club the Factory. "Every time I'm there, you never know who you're going to run into or what kind of memories you're going to make," Lambert said. "It has this timeless energy that feels like stepping into another era."

Taste of Country pointed to Little Big Town's disco-leaning Wanderlust EP and 2022 song "All Summer," plus Lambert's own 2025 collaboration with Chris Stapleton, "A Song To Sing," as earlier signs of the genre's disco turn that Sunset Marquis continues.

Crisco arrives October 2, and Lambert will preview it live the night before: she headlines the October 1 opening of The Truth, Nashville's newest venue, backed by a 12-piece string section for a one-night-only show. MusicSuey has more on the venue's opening night, with the album itself tracked on the release calendar.
