Nicole Dash Jones has released "LOSER," the headline single from a forthcoming album carrying the same title, due in December 2026. It arrived on August 20.
The British artist, now living in Los Angeles, wrote it as a breakup song aimed at herself. AllHipHop describes the position it takes: someone looking in the mirror at a person who is no longer who they promised to become, calling herself the loser and then delivering the line with the guitar loud enough to drown out the old voice.
Musically it moves her toward indie pop, with gritty guitars sitting under the hooks. The song opens on someone who used to be a god, the person who commanded a room, and follows the unravelling without a redemption arc to tidy it up.
The track also brings in a wider circle. VINCENT.WTF, a rising artist and producer, features on it, part of a group of collaborators Jones has been pulling around the record rather than building it alone.
Jones described the song as being "about watching someone become a stranger to themselves," and it refuses to leave its subject there: the closing moments repeat the line "I'm on your side." Even the artwork carries the joke, a photograph of her in a jeweled tiara wiping black tears away with a crumpled tissue.
The single is logged on the release calendar ahead of the December album, in an indie and pop autumn that has also brought debut records from Sarah Meth and new songs from Just Penelope.
