OsamaSon has spent two years watching his unreleased music arrive on the internet before he could put it there himself. At Toronto's First Class Fest he stopped fighting it and built a whole set out of the leaks.
A lineup change at the festival meant the rapper played both nights, and he used the Saturday, August 29, for a set of exclusively unreleased material. The 18-song run took in live debuts of "All Day", "Range Rover", "Guap in My Pants", "Movie", "Broad" and "Creek", none of which he has released.
The scale of his leak problem explains the decision. In 2024 a data dump of more than 400 unreleased OsamaSon tracks reached the internet. In January 2025, his album Jump Out leaked weeks ahead of its scheduled release date, which is a different order of damage: an album has a rollout, and a leak removes it.
He said as much at the time. "I'm happy they want it so bad. But if they would give me a chance, I'd drop that shit," he told The Fader, describing what a leak takes away: the trailer, the preview on a live stream, the video, all of it gone out the window the moment somebody else posts the songs.
Playing the material live is the one route around that a rapper actually controls. A leaked file circulates; a live debut is still an event, still first, and still his. Whether that is a strategy or a shrug is hard to tell from outside, but it is the only version of a rollout available to an artist whose hard drive keeps ending up in a shared folder.
The festival that hosted it had its own difficulties. First Class Fest lost Che, Black Kray and Nettspend before its Toronto edition, and eventually shed roughly a fifth of its bill a day before doors, which is how OsamaSon ended up with two nights instead of one.
Nettspend, one of the acts who dropped off that bill, is also the artist OsamaSon has been teasing a collaborative album with. His last released record was Psykotic in 2025. His remaining hip-hop dates are on the tour guide, and anyone hoping to hear "Range Rover" on a streaming service is presumably in a race with whoever has the files.
