RIXXIA reopens her debut album NO LO ENtENDERÍAS as Deluluxe

RIXXIA has reopened her first album. The Mexican artist put out Deluluxe, an expanded edition of NO LO ENtENDERÍAS, adding songs, guests and a set of sounds she says point at where her project goes next. She talked it through with Rolling Stone en Español in an interview published on 19 August 2026.

The centrepiece of the new material is 'ME ENAMORÉ DE UN VAMPIRO!', where she leans on post-punk and electropop. She traced that back to what she listened to as a child, naming Depeche Mode and The Cure, and said the song lets out her darker side without losing the offhand quality she likes in her own voice.

The original album took most of its bearings from 2010s pop, and she has cited Kesha, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado and Madonna as reference points for it. For the additions she went further back, into electro, disco and pop from the 1970s and 1980s, plus The Cure, the Mexican duo María Daniela y Su Sonido Lasser from the 2000s, and Peaches.

Part of the reason for extending the record at all was arithmetic she does not much like. RIXXIA reckons music has turned into an instant product that people forget inside four months, so the expanded edition is a way of stretching the life of the original while pushing some of what comes next into earshot.

The title comes from the same idea of not being understood that the album was built around. Being delulu, as she uses it, means staying inside your own creative world and doing things on your own terms rather than trying to fit.

That has drawn a reaction before. Her first song, 'U R SUCH A LAME!', annoyed people who questioned what she was doing, and so did a set at HÖR in Berlin where she mixed her own tracks with María Daniela y Su Sonido Lasser records and was told by purists that what she was playing was not techno. Her answer to all of it: "Viva la incomodidad", long live the discomfort.

Foudeqush turns up alongside 1702 on a remix of 'ROTA´', which the singer says gave the song the vulnerability she was after and made it sound fragile rather than hard. Chzter appears on one of the new tracks, a song about being girlfriends that she describes as sexually explicit. Both are Mexican artists she had wanted to work with at this stage.

The artwork changed too. The red house on the original sleeve gives way to a vampire doll, a character she imagines living inside that house, and she calls it the start of a "nueva era vampiresca", a new vampire era, that will shape how the next releases look.

The expanded edition landed a few weeks before her first headline concert, a bigger production than anything she had staged before, with scenery and a story written for the night. Honey Bunny and the Puerto Rican artist Melody opened it, and RIXXIA confirmed in the same interview that a collaboration with Melody is coming.

Her records are filed here under pop, and the reissue is logged with everything else on the release calendar. Two of the names she reaches for have turned up in our reporting already: Peaches booked two Argentina dates in November, her first in a decade, and the Mexican singer Paulina Goto released the single Cuidame de Mi.
