Skrillex ends a 14-year Seattle absence with a Porter Robinson DJ set

Ninajirachi joined the pair at the Gas Works Day Party, where recording was reportedly banned.

Skrillex played Seattle for the first time in 14 years, and he did it back to back with Porter Robinson and Ninajirachi. The three shared a booth at the Gas Works Day Party, a Showbox Presents event held over the weekend at Gas Works Park on the shore of Lake Union.

The gap is the headline detail. Skrillex had not performed in the city since Bumbershoot in 2012, and the format of the showcase, a near-continuous run of high-energy back-to-back sets rather than discrete slots, suggests he treated the return as something to make up ground with.

The venue is unusual for a dance event. Gas Works Park is a National Register-listed former gasification plant, its industrial remains left standing in the middle of a public park, which gives the site a very different character from a purpose-built festival field.

A timestamped tracklist from an extended clip shows the shape of the set. It opens on First Of The Year, then turns to Ninajirachi's edit of Angel Music, followed by Skrillex and Virtual Riot's WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING, Skrillex's remix of Avicii's Levels and an ISOxo edit of the same track.

WannaCry sits at the centre of the set and functions as its hinge. Robinson debuted that collaboration with Ninajirachi by crashing her Coachella set earlier in the year, then toured it for three months before releasing it this summer, so playing it with her in the booth closes a loop the year opened.

That footage exists at all is worth noting, because recording was reportedly prohibited at the venue. Around 20 minutes of the set has circulated regardless. Skrillex has spent 2026 turning up on other people's stages as much as his own, including a Sziget closing set with Jorja Smith and a Boomtown set with Chase & Status. His electronic dates are tracked on the tour guide.
